If you have custom reporting needs that go beyond the capabilities of Report Writer Pro, then you need to learn Replang, Advent's Report Writing Programming Language. All Axys reports, including all standard and custom reports, are written in Replang. CSSI offers three levels of Replang Training Classes:

Introduction to Replang Programming
Intermediate Replang Programming
Advanced Replang Programming

For your convenience, each session will be offered at the same time and location as the various Advent User Group regional meetings. Classes are currently planned for Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, and New York City, as well as many other locations around the country. Classes will be offered as long as there is sufficient demand.

Currently scheduled classes:

Intermediate Replang Programming Classes
  • None currently scheduled

Training classes will run from 9am to 4pm and will include lecture instruction as well as hands-on programming exercises. Minimum class size is 3, maximum class size is 10. The cost is $800 per session for Advent User Group Members, $1200 per session for non-AUG members. (see www.adventuser.org for information on joining the Advent User Group.)

What will be covered in the Intro to Replang Class? Pre-requisites

1. This is a programming class. You should have a computer programming background and be able to understand programming concepts such as loops and if statements.

2. You should have completed the Introduction to Replang Programming class. The Intermediate Class builds on concepts covered in the Introduction to Replang Programming Class.

Things to do before you attend

1. You should contact Advent and ask them to send you the Report Writing Language Programmer's Guide (REPU34). There is no charge for the book, but you have to ask for it.

2. Plan on bringing a laptop with both Axys and Report Writer Pro installed. There will be hands-on programming exercises during the class. Computers will not be provided, so make sure you bring your laptop so you can take advantage of the learning opportunity provided by the programming excercises.

Make sure you can start Axys and run various Axys reports on your laptop
